She has considerable experience working with children and youth navigating suicidal risk, self-harm, trauma, depression, anxiety and bullying. She provides support for all ages with focusses on trauma, depression, stress management, anxiety, and parenting. Brianna has worked in various settings, including group homes, emergency departments, inpatient units, schools, youth custody, and private practice. Brianna believes in the importance of a positive therapeutic relationship and that all clients hold strength and resilience.
Brianna’s approach trauma work is with deep respect for the unique experiences of each individual, creating a safe, compassionate space where healing can unfold at its own pace. Brianna’s practice is grounded in trauma-informed care, prioritizing safety, choice, and empowerment for all clients. She uses the Integrative Trauma and Attachment Therapy model, which focuses on depotentiating activated trauma in a way that avoids cognitive processing and overwhelming emotional flooding. By incorporating techniques like bilateral stimulation, Brianna helps clients process trauma from a physiological standpoint, allowing their body and mind to heal in harmony. This approach provides a gentle yet effective way to move through trauma, fostering lasting resilience and recovery.
In working with anxiety, Brianna blends Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) with Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) skills and Narrative Therapy to support clients in shifting their relationship with anxiety. She believes that by understanding thought patterns and integrating DBT techniques, individuals can learn healthier coping strategies to assist in emotional regulation. Through narrative therapy, clients are given the opportunity to”rewrite their narrative” —shifting from one defined by fear and uncertainty to one of strength and possibility. As a psychotherapist, Brianna empowers clients to recognize the underlying factors of their anxiety and develop practical tools to manage it, ultimately leading to improved confidence.
In her work with children and youth counseling, she draws from over six years of experience in diverse settings such as youth custody, schools, hospitals, group homes, and clinical counseling environments. She believes in the resilience and potential of young people, and is dedicated to supporting both the youth and their families through mental health challenges. Collaborating with parents is an essential part of her approach, ensuring a holistic and supportive environment that fosters emotional growth, healing, and well-being for children and youth.
Brianna is inspired by the strength and resilience of her clients and their capacity to face difficult challenges. She deeply believes that everyone has the ability to do the hard work necessary to achieve their desired outcomes, and is honored to walk alongside them in their healing journey. Through compassion, empowerment, and dedication, she is committed to helping her clients build the resilience they need to heal, thrive, and live the life they desire.
