Carolyn Tong is a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology practicum student dedicated to supporting clients on their journey toward mental well-being. She believes that wellness is multidimensional and deeply influenced by individual and cultural experiences, ensuring that diversity, equity, and inclusion are at the heart of her work.
With many years of experience in workplace psychological health, safety, and wellness—including roles in education and paramedic services—Carolyn brings insight into the unique stressors faced by educators, first responders, and their families.
Using a collaborative, trauma-informed approach, she works primarily with adults experiencing anxiety, depression, grief, low self-esteem, relationship challenges, or work-related stress. As an intern, Carolyn receives regular supervision to ensure clients receive compassionate, high-quality care.
Carolyn Tong is a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology practicum student who is looking forward to supporting clients with their journey towards psychological well-being. Carolyn firmly believes well-being is multidimensional and interwoven with cultural and individual experiences. As such, she ensures that diversity, equity, and inclusion is genuinely considered, and individuals are empowered in their unique identities and strengths.
Prior to becoming a therapist, Carolyn has worked in community development, public health, and community-based mental health, and she has specialized in workplace psychological health, safety, and wellness for over a decade. Carolyn worked for many years at a school board and more recently in a paramedic service, which has given her familiarity with work-related exposures and stressors often faced by educators, first responders, and their family members.
Carolyn uses a highly collaborative, trauma-informed approach with clients to ensure that therapy goals and pace of sessions are aligned to the client’s values, beliefs, and strengths. Carolyn’s primary focus is working with adults who may be seeking support for anxiety, depression, guilt, grief, low self-esteem, relational conflict, work stress and burnout, or life transitions.
As an intern, Carolyn is committed to receiving regular supervision to ensure that clients receive high quality and ethically responsible care.
