Emily Snyder is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) in good standing with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO). Emily holds a Bachelor of Arts degree, with honours in Behavioural Psychology, and is currently completing her Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology degree at Yorkville University. Emily has experience working in community mental health settings, hospitals, and schools. In these roles, she focused on holistic care and crisis intervention, considering not only mental health, but also the physical, social, and environmental factors that affect well-being. Emily’s experiences have strengthened her commitment to meet people where they are, with a non-judgmental stance, and respect for each person’s unique story.
Emily works with both youth and adults, offering a supportive space to navigate and explore topics such as trauma, identity, anxiety, emotional dysregulation, or periods of transition and uncertainty. As a therapist, Emily uses a person-centered and integrative approach, drawing from modalities such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and trauma-informed practices. Emily is passionate about creating a safe environment so individuals can work to understand how early experiences, attachment styles, and learned behaviour shape the way they think, feel, and connect. She also incorporates psychoeducation and mindfulness-based practices to help people develop awareness of their nervous system responses. Emily’s therapeutic style is warm, collaborative, and grounded in humor and authenticity.
Emily believes that healing happens when individuals feel safe, seen, and equipped. Blending her expertise in behavioural sciences and mental health counselling, Emily aims to empower individuals to make sense of old patterns, learn evidence-based strategies to create meaningful change, and build self-compassion from the inside out.
