Iris brings a warm and genuine presence to help build a sincere connection with her clients. She has a passion for helping people navigate personal and relationship challenges with empathy and practical support. She’ll follow your lead, gently challenge you at times, and help you set meaningful goals to move forward.
Iris integrates evidence-based practices tailored to what works best for her clients. No two people are alike, and many benefit from a multifaceted and flexible approach to therapy. She integrates evidence-based practices, from Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) to uncover and work through deeper emotions and conflicts, and mindfulness-based behavioural approaches like CBT and DBT to shift patterns of behaviour.
As someone who has navigated over twenty years of marriage, parenting teens, creating work-life balance, and managing career changes, Iris offers both empathy and lived experience. Before becoming a therapist, Iris spent over two decades working as a creative professional, which shaped her belief in the power of creativity for personal growth.
Areas of focus: Managing anxiety and depression, building stronger relationships, improving self-esteem, stress/burnout, emotion regulation, supporting couples and families, and navigating career or life transitions.
Iris recognizes that many aspects of her clients’ identities shape their experience, and she approaches her work with sensitivity to culture, religion, gender, and sexuality.
Iris’ approach is trauma-informed, meaning safety and trust are central. She will check in regularly, go at a pace that feels comfortable for her clients, and move through the therapy process in a collaborative way that gives clients control and choice.
Outside of her work as a therapist, Iris has volunteered with youth and supported vulnerable individuals through the Distress Centres of Greater Toronto. In her free time, she enjoys painting, drawing, yoga, and spending time outdoors with her family.
