As a Practicum Therapist at Online Therapy Centre, McKenzie offers a holistic and collaborative approach, focused on providing a safe, non-judgmental space to build actionable strategies for client growth. She is passionate about supporting clients through chronic pain and injury, sport performance anxiety, perfectionism, life transitions, burnout, depression, relationship conflict, and body image concerns.
McKenzie is a Master’s-level practicum student in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University, currently completing her clinical training with the Online Therapy Centre under the clinical supervision of Christine Trosztmer, RP. She takes a collaborative, person-centered approach to help clients recognize their inherent strengths, manage anxiety, and reclaim joy in their lives. McKenzie supports teens, adults, and seniors, offering a warm and grounding space that integrates Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Somatic Therapy, Strength-Based, and Solution-Focused Therapy.
Her primary areas of focus include supporting clients navigating sport performance anxiety, chronic pain and injury, body image concerns, neurodivergence, life transitions, interpersonal conflict, stress, burnout, depression, and grief/loss.
Deeply informed by her background as a competitive athlete and dancer, McKenzie brings personal insight into the physical pressures, perfectionism, and anxiety of performance. This is paired with over 10 years of experience supporting neurodivergent individuals, adolescents, and families as a swim coach, high school tutor, and youth support worker, giving her an intuitive understanding of how performance pressure and masking impact mental health.
Having relocated across Canada many times, McKenzie intimately understands the stress of navigating new environments and life transitions. She draws on her personal and professional background to provide a highly empathetic space where clients can feel supported to find their footing and thrive.
