Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying)

Nazanin Rahmani is a warm, collaborative psychotherapist who helps adults and older teens build practical skills and meaningful change. She blends CBT, EFT, DBT, client-centred and trauma-informed approaches to create a safe, non-judgmental space that respects each client’s culture, history, and goals. Nazanin supports concerns such as anxiety, depression, trauma/PTSD, life transitions, stress, self-esteem, and emotion regulation. She holds a BA in Psychology (York University) and an MA in Counselling Psychology (Yorkville University), and is a member of the CRPO and CCPA.

Counselling Philosophy

Nazanin believes that every individual carries within them the capacity for growth, healing, and meaningful change. As a psychotherapist, she is committed to creating a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental space where clients feel empowered to explore their experiences, challenges, and emotions at their own pace. Nazanin views therapy as a collaborative journey. Each client brings a unique story, set of strengths, and personal values. Together, Nazanin and her clients work to identify goals that reflect their individual needs and aspirations.

Drawing from evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Trauma-Informed Care, and Client-Centered Therapy, Nazanin tailors her interventions to meet the specific needs of each person, always respecting their cultural background, personal history, and lived experiences. She approaches her work with deep compassion and genuine curiosity, honoring both the pain and resilience that clients bring to therapy. Nazanin strives to foster an atmosphere of trust where difficult emotions can be expressed and new perspectives can emerge. She believes that meaningful change happens when clients feel truly heard, seen, and understood. At the core of Nazanin’s philosophy is the belief that healing is not about erasing pain, but about equipping clients with the tools and insights to navigate life’s challenges with greater confidence, balance, and self-awareness.

Education and Approaches

Nazanin Rahmani is a dedicated and compassionate psychotherapist who brings both a strong academic background and a client-centered philosophy to her clinical work. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from York University, where she developed a solid understanding of psychological theory, human development, and emotional health. Nazanin continued her advanced studies by completing a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University, receiving comprehensive clinical training and supervision in evidence-based therapeutic models.

She specializes in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), and Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), helping clients address and regulate emotions, challenge unhelpful thought patterns, and develop effective coping strategies. In addition, Nazanin integrates Trauma-Informed Care into her practice, recognizing the profound impact that trauma can have on an individual’s mental, emotional, and physical well-being. She creates a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental therapeutic environment where clients feel empowered to explore their experiences at their own pace, while emphasizing safety, trust, choice, and collaboration.

At the heart of her approach is a deep respect for each client’s unique journey. Nazanin strives to foster an empathetic and collaborative therapeutic relationship where clients feel truly heard, validated, and supported as they work toward healing, personal growth, and lasting change.
