Nicole Wilmot is a Master’s-level practicum student in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University, completing her clinical training with OTC Therapy. She is deeply committed to creating a compassionate, collaborative, and culturally safe space where clients feel heard, valued, and empowered in their healing journey. Nicole believes that every individual is unique, and as such, she takes a flexible, multimodal approach to counselling, drawing from a variety of therapeutic techniques to meet each client’s distinct needs and goals.
Nicole brings over 9 years of experience supporting youth, families, and communities across mental health, education, and restorative justice settings. She previously worked as a Manager of Restorative Justice at the Ministry of Justice in Jamaica, where she facilitated conflict resolution processes and supported youth and families navigating complex legal and social systems. At the Caribbean Institute of Mental Health and Substance Abuse, Nicole provided cultural therapy sessions for children facing emotional and behavioral challenges, offered psychoeducation to parents and teachers, and led school-based mental health initiatives across multiple parishes.
Nicole’s diverse professional background has shaped her integrative, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive approach to care. She is passionate about supporting individuals through life transitions, trauma and abuse, systemic barriers, and mental health challenges, fostering healing and resilience through empathy, respect, and evidence-based practices.
Nicole works under the clinical supervision of Cathy Blocki-Radeki, MSW, RSW, as part of her practicum placement at OTC Therapy.
