Roya is a practicum intern at the Online Therapy Centre and is currently pursuing her Master of Social Work at the University of Toronto. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from India and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from York University.

Roya has been working with newcomers, refugees, and marginalized communities in her role as a Community Mental Health and Wellness Lead. Throughout her work, she has supported individuals and families who have experienced trauma, displacement, crisis, and significant life transitions. She is particularly passionate about helping clients navigate grief, loss, and the emotional impacts of difficult past experiences.
Roya is known for her empathetic, compassionate, and client-centred approach. She believes in creating a safe and non-judgmental space where clients feel heard, respected, and supported. Drawing from her experience in community mental health, she works collaboratively with clients to build resilience, identify strengths, and move toward healing and well-being.
Roya has experience supporting clients with anxiety, depression, stress, adjustment challenges, trauma-related concerns, grief and loss, family conflict, and the unique challenges faced by newcomers and refugee communities. Her approach is grounded in empathy, cultural sensitivity, and a strong commitment to empowering clients on their journey toward recovery and personal growth
